Here at selfmadeheroes.com I have always been a fan of the Channel 4 branding.
Using the number 4 as a window/mask over images is a simply and clean holding
devise and works on a off screen. I have used this approach in some of my recent projects,
the Natural History Museum have also used this styling in their logo check it out www.nhm.ac.uk
